SICK LUNATIX EP

If It Aint Rough It Aint Right

The Projects

Red Hook Madness

Voices

Yo i see people dig my style of blogging with the div share bar and all that. Word spreads fast here in the world wide web. Yo new post is about the Sick Lunatix. More info and download coming soon.Btw the picture is from discogs, no batteries for the cam atm.
So although they try to donate 2-3% of the outcome of this record to some Red Hook, NY charity organizations (wee thats some big savings with a run around 1000 copys, but thats only my guess), the label was based in Newark, NJ. And thats how it sounds like..like a lot of other Jersey releases of that time. The MC's have that kind of fastrap stlye, combined with the grimey beats..and some weirdness..thats Jersey. Sick Lunatix are featured another 35Mhz Rec Release, but thats really not worth to elaborate any further. Anyway, check it out and drop your cents.

50 / 50 - INEVITABLE EP

Hamburger Hill

Going Out For All

Take That

Something Aint Right

This is how it should be done. Solid 4 Track Ep including all instrumentals, 50/50 knew how to do a DJ friendly record. And seriously, this is a dope one. But how else could it be when Marley Marl and J-Force (yep) handle the production, so besides this is a dope item to complete your J-Force discographie (so who else got the Nimbus wax?). While "Going Out For All" and "Take That" being kind of fillers on here, "Hamburger Hill" and "Something Aint Right" take the prize. Two dope songs containing dope beats and dope lyrics. So the first songs isnt a Mc Donalds commercial, more fitting it was an anti war movie from the 80s. Well i guess the guys dont take reference to that, more likely they call their neighborghood like that, so its a typical representing song. Furthermore..how do you know something aint right? Yeah, when 50/50 makes a song about "something deep". Back in the italio movie scene, they rap about former friendships and how things broke up. Thanks J for the butter beat.

JOHNNY BLANCO - LIVE FROM QUEENS / RESPECT

Johhny Blanco - Live From Queens

Johnny Blanco - Respect

Ever thought about how life would be witthout the Godfather movies? Right, no mafioso movies, which seem to insprire quite a lot of rappers, remember Raekwon - Only Built for Cuban Links? Well without those movies this featured rapper would maybe put out some way other stuff..but he didnt. This is a solid 12Inch which i can only recommend. While "Live From Queens" is a fast song in which Johnny is representing his Hood, "Respect" is a more laid back song, delivering a powerful rap about respect. Production is dope, sounds like MPC or KORG works to me, quite clean but crisp. Generally speaking, Johnny is a dope MC..check it out & leave a comment.

SANDINISTAS - MADD LUV / HIGHER

Sandinistas - Madd Luv

Sandinistas - Madd Luv RMX

Sandinistas - Higher

Starting of the Dust Is A Must 12Inch Review Series is the Sandinistas, a group never heard of beside this release. Consisting of 2 MCs from Brooklyn, the Sandinistas deliver a strong 3 track Wax, released in 97. Production is on point, moody samples combined with crisp drums. Well thats how we like it. Their flow is consistant, nothing revolutioning at this point of time but well fitting to the beats. The "Madd Luv RMX" easily is the winner on this one, "Higher" still is an average track but gets boring after some airplay. Well check it out & leave a comment.
